Facilitating better research today, the IRB Wizard permits review boards of research hospitals and medical universities to assess and manage the risks that come with handling personal health information while maximizing the benefits of data sharing.
Group Size
A group is made up of the people who are identical based on the other attributes;
a group size of 1 indicates unique individuals.
More sensitive data should have a larger group size as members of small groups can be re-identified with high probability.
At Risk
The estimated percentage of residents of the selected geographic area who are in a group of less
than or equal to Group Size based on the other attributes, and who are thus at risk of being
re-identified based on the supplied group size.
Selected Area
The geographic area of interest. Risk varies by state.
Zip Code Digits
The number of zip code digits that will be collected. Collecting fewer zip code digits reduces risk.
Age Range
The age information that is collected. Collecting less detailed information reduces risk.
Gender
Check if gender is collected. Not collecting gender reduces risk.
